Show Notes

Strap yourself in for a thought provoking mind bending episode. This sort of conversation is my absolute fave!!!

It points to the causeless joy, limitless peace and freedom we are when not veiled by stories and narratives that turn 'what is' into a problem that needs to be fixed in order to be ok. The following quote shared during the episode sums up the nature of this conversation perfectly:

“We have tried everything to get rid of suffering. We have gone everywhere to get rid of suffering. We have bought everything to get rid of it. We have ingested everything to get rid of it. Finally, when one has tried enough, there arises the possibility of spiritual maturity with the willingness to stop the futile attempt to get rid of it and, instead, to actually experience suffering. In that momentous instant, there is the realisation of that which is beyond suffering, of that which is untouched by suffering. There is the realisation of who one truly is." ~ Gangaji

Podcast guest Missy Maiorano is a wife and mother of three daughters in Cary, North Carolina (southern United States). An elementary school teacher by trade, Missy enjoys sharing her understanding of our true peaceful design with adults and youth throughout her community. Her ultimate goal is to become a transformative coach so that she can help as many people as possible discover the indescribable peace and innate health that lies within them right now, in this very moment.

She is writing her first book called The Perfect Design. It’s a colourful, easy-to-read picture book written specifically for adults. The story is a metaphor for being human, and for the simple misunderstanding that often leads to a life-long search for peace and contentment. The main character searches to find a cure for her low-level buzzing of anxiety and fear. In the end, she discovers that a simple misunderstanding was the only thing preventing her from seeing that she is made of peace and cannot ever be separated from it.

The book might well be ready for purchase autumn 2020.

In her spare time, Missy enjoys hiking, going for bike rides at the beach, and spending time with her family.
